Large, bustling Greek restaurant conveniently located right off I-94 on Touhy. Essentially it's one big room with a bar and a few tables near it, separated from the main dining room by some posts. You're getting authentic cuisine and very attentive service. Waiters and runners are constantly in motion, coordinating so that you never wait long after you can snag someone to hear your request. Large menu with what you'd expect: hot and cold appetizers, entrees, sides and desserts. Full bar, as mentioned. Never had anything on the menu that wasn't great. I love their melitzanosalata which is an eggplant spread, similar in many ways to baba ghanoush, but looks completely different. Served with warm bread or pita. Their chicken is very good. So is the lamb. I like the Greek potatoes and green beans. Even their french fries are worth ordering. (Great to start the meal because they'll come out quick, and people will need time to check out the menu.) Save room for their desserts. I recommend the galaktobouriko, essentially a piece of custard pie. Reservations recommended. They have valet parking which will only cost you the tip. Nice guys there too.

Food- check! It's as solid as it gets for Greek. Service- outstanding and fast Ambiance - it's a family style greek restaurant. You're not going to be wowed like Avli on the park. Recommend going if you love Greek food and you're up near Lincolnwood or up for a drive.

Psisteria is a place to go to a little later in the evening say after 6pm as the much older crowd that makes up their clientele will have eaten and moved on for the night. They really don't have a parking lot, so it's valet only. They are a stalwart of Lincolnwood and have been a hearty staple of good Greek chicken for a long time. I went here with my family when I was a kid. It's basically the same place. Putty colored walls with wood trim. When you're good, you don't need to change or update the place. I'm sure they've changed a light bulb or two, but it's the same place I remember as a child. I always start with the avgolemono soup. It's freakin' good and they've been making it for years, so they know what they're doing. And I can easily say that they certainly do. It was good. The kind where you don't need to squeeze a lemon into it to give it a lemon flavor. I also ordered their chicken breast plate with the Greek potatoes. Everything had a lemon zest to them and that's the way I like it. Everyone in my group ordered basically the same things I did (in variations: the 1/2 chicken, kabobs, etc.). It's always a great meal.

First time here and I gotta say you're in for a long wait when it's busy. When I drove up I asked the valet if it was busy or how long a wait it would be. He went inside to presumably ask the hostess or someone, came out and said there wouldn't be any wait. So I went inside, said I was dining here for one and the hostess said it would be a short wait...I looked around and it was busy so I figured that's totally reasonable. I got there around 7:40 and had a little over an hour until I had to make a movie just down the road. I waited 40 minutes so I just asked for a small to go order instead and got it right away. Ended up quickly eating it in my car in the theater lot.

I've been driving past this place for literal years and, every time I do, it's totally packed. I finally gave it a go with a big group of friends and wow!! I didn't get photos of everything ordered, but we got through quite a bit. For appetizers, we got the hot and cold platter, as well as the saganaki. The cold platter is honestly a home run. The fish spread and octopus are DELICIOUS. The tzatziki will ruin you. The saganaki, I could order just that all day, wow wow wow. For entrees, I got the lamb ( of course). It was incredibly moist and flavorful, and I was pretty ready to sleep forever after eating all that food. The wait staff was quick and attentive and , despite us being a large group, it never once felt like service was slow. Our food came out in a timely manner and it came out hot and delicious. I can understand now how this place is always busy. Well worth a visit!

I've been coming here since I was a kid! (Apparently I have 13 check-ins). My first time here was with a neighbor who was born in Greece and recommended it. We had such a great experience! I still remember seeing saganaki (flaming cheese) for the first time and how impressed I was! Over time they haven't changed in a good way! (Aside from a remodel). I love their food and service. My go to is their lemon soup, their garlic potato spread (skordalia) and their lamb! It's seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Oh and their sesame bread is fantastic! The food is always so yummy! We've dined in as well and the service is exceptional. They have valet parking which is so helpful because they are always packed and have a small lot.

The restaurant has the cutest ambiance. The host was extremely nice, asked how my day was going, and even gave me a compliment. Our server, Victor, was very timely and greeted us right away. They serve bread with olive oil on it (yay for bread!); however, there were sesame seeds on the crust, which kind of ruined it for me. I ordered the horiatiki (village) salad, which only came with two olives and two tiny pieces of feta. Can we really classify it as a horiatiki salad with such a minimal amount of these essential ingredients? Even so, it was well-flavored, and the vegetables were fresh. The feta tasted so authentic--it was perfect! I also ordered a Greek white wine, Boutari Kretikos, which Victor suggested as one of the most popular choices. It was dry yet flavorful, just as he described. For my main dish, I ordered the whole lavraki (Mediterranean sea bass) broiled with oil, lemon, and garlic. It came with a surprise: Victor lit the dish on fire and shouted, "OPA!" From presentation to palate, it was AMAZING! The dish was accompanied by a soup, and I chose the avgolemono (egg, lemon, and rice) soup. It was served lukewarm, but I added lemon wedges (insider tip!) which really enhanced the flavor. For dessert, I ordered what seemed like a Greek take on a fritter. It was topped with a delicious, creamy vanilla bean sauce. The perfect balance of rich and sweet!
